In today’s fast-moving business environment, Chamber of Commerce professionals are being asked to do more than
ever before—with limited time, staff, and resources. From member communications and event planning to strategic
initiatives and board support, the workload continues to grow. That’s exactly why now is the time to embrace one of
the most powerful tools available to you: artificial intelligence (AI).
If you haven’t started using AI yet, consider this your sign—it’s time to jump on the bandwagon.
AI is not complicated, technical, or reserved for large organizations. In fact, it’s incredibly user-friendly and designed to
support everyday tasks that Chamber professionals handle daily. Tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot are
leading the way, and both are excellent starting points for Chamber staff.
So, why should you care?
First, AI saves time—significant time. Need to write a member email, create a social media post, draft a sponsorship
letter, or outline a strategic plan? AI can do that in seconds. Instead of staring at a blank screen, you can generate a
strong first draft and then customize it with your local voice and knowledge.
Second, AI improves consistency and professionalism. Whether you’re communicating with members, stakeholders,
or your board, AI helps ensure your messaging is clear, polished, and effective. It acts like a built-in editor and
brainstorming partner all in one.
Third, AI helps you think strategically. Many Chamber professionals get stuck in the day-to-day operations and
struggle to carve out time for big-picture planning. AI can help you generate ideas, create SWOT analyses, develop
program outlines, and even assist with long-range strategic planning. It doesn’t replace your expertise—it enhances it.
The best part? Getting started is incredibly easy.
To begin using ChatGPT, simply go to its website or download the mobile app from your app store. Create a free
account using your email, and you’re ready to go. You can start by typing simple requests like, “Write a Chamber
newsletter introduction,” or “Create a ribbon cutting announcement.”
For Microsoft Copilot, if you already use Microsoft products like Word, Outlook, or Excel, you may already have
access. You can also download the Copilot app or access it through your Microsoft account online. It integrates
seamlessly into tools you already use, making it even more convenient.
Here are a few easy next steps to get you going:
● Start small—use AI for one task this week
● Experiment with different prompts to see what works best
● Refine the output to match your Chamber’s voice
● Share what you learn with your team
Chambers that embrace AI now will be more efficient, more strategic, and better positioned to serve their members.
Those that delay risk falling behind.
This isn’t a passing trend—it’s a fundamental shift in how work gets done. The good news is you don’t need to be an
expert to get started. You just need to begin.
Your future self—and your Chamber—will thank you.
